DAY 1 :  November 6th, 2008 Get acquainted Lunch 11-1PM

Part 1. Measurement Class
(Draping with Jean)

You will be personally measured in strategic regions of your body to determine your customized "Ease" Factor.  Your "Ease" Measurements are like GOLD!  Everyone’s ease measurements are different–Please…don’t ever follow those standardized guidelines again!

Part 2. Body Analysis 
(Body Image with Kathie)
OH…AND, You don’t want to miss this!!!
Kathie will make your own personalized croquis for you!  A croquis is your body map (Outline).  You are going to learn:

1. Your bone structure 
2. Your proportions
3. The size of your features
4. Plus, so much more!
5. Know your BEST TYPE OF DARTS AND THEIR PLACEMENTS!!
6. What styles makes you look taller and thinner!

DAY 2 :  November 7th, 2008

Part 1. Begin Skirt Draping 8-12PM
(Draping with Jean)

Jean will teach you her renowned "Tissue Draping" technique on the dress form.  You will then learn how to drape a commercial pattern right onto your dress form.
(Jean’s method has been featured in Vogue Patterns Magazine)

Part 2. Color Analysis 1-5PM
(Colors with Kathie)

Kathie will drape colored fabric in different hues and intensities to analyze your color scale.  Your colors will be evaluated by the group and you will receive a reference color book for all your needs.

Kathie will give you your own color swatches and booklet (included in the tuition) for all your future needs!

DAY 3:  November 8th  (8-5 PM)
 Part 1. Intro to Begin Draping the Cloth
(with Jean)

You are going to learn and value:

The art of "draping a pattern from scratch".  The precise way to drape cloth onto your body.

1. How to drape the under bust dart, shoulder dart, side bust dart and more importantly… we show you how to drape YOUR BEST DARTS for your shape!
2. Learn draping terminologies andhow they apply your garment’s pattern.                           

   (Garment on model draped on the dress form)

    

3. Take home your draped and shaped master sleeveless sheath dress and vest pattern.  Now you will have a master canvas which will turn into a ton of variations and outfits. 

Day 4: November 9th  (1-5PM)
(with Jean)

1. How to drape and fit without "over-fitting"
2. How to change your darts into perfectly placed princess line seams.
3. How to "True" all of  your seams and facings
4. A overview on necklines….

IMPORTANT!!  In order to qualify to attend this
Sewing Makeover Weekend you will need to have a Custom Dress Form with all of your Design Lines set onto your form as seen to the left.
